This is a drawing of Toffee, the pet dog of the artist’s niece. Fernando Zobel did this drawing in Manila where he returned after his university studies in Harvard and travels in Spain. He continued his drawings, mostly of daily life and various religious images. He was able to publish Sketchbooks: Fernando Zobel in 1954, a selection of his drawings.
