The 2022 Summer Virtual Workshops is a workshop series for kids, teens, and adults to learn and rediscover Filipino culture and identity through art. It features works by Juan Luna, Damian Domingo, Jose Honorato Lozano, and Fernando Amorsolo from the Ayala Museum’s current exhibition Intertwined: Transpacific, Transcultural Philippines.
This workshop will have three (3) three-hour sessions on 3 consecutive Saturdays which aim for teens to discover and learn the basic techniques of watercolor painting. A workshop that encourages teens to create an artwork legacy by painting a letras y figuras inspired from Jose Honorato Lozano’s works. Teens will be encouraged to apply and render the watercolor painting techniques they have learned from the sessions to better express of themselves and their identity as Filipinos.

About the Facilitators
Aldy Aguirre
Teacher
Aldy C. Aguirre is a freelance artist and illustrator. He mostly works on watercolor and gouache and gets inspirations from nature; memories, dreams and emotions. Most of his works can be seen on children’s books from different publishers and independent writers. His works have been recognized locally by the Philippine Board on Books for the Young People and National Book Development Board; and abroad by ILUSTRARTE in Castelo Branco, Portugal and Sharjah Exhibition for Children’s Book Illustrations. He illustrated the book "Si Kian", which is now part of White Ravens Catalog by the International Youth Library in Munich, Germany.
